Something interesting about the Karpathy interview is his fuzziness around times e.g. not being sure if he released nanochat yesterday or the day before, not being sure if CC/codex were this year or last. Stands out given he's so sharp about the technical details.

Not sure if it means much if anything. Maybe he's just really busy? Has a weird sleep schedule? Part of me thinks it means I should take his forecasts less seriously. But maybe not.

I myself have been really off of course. Lately especially. But also after gpt-4 I kind of thought we'd have agents as good as CC/codex/mentat by the summer of 2024.
