I don't know about all this science mumbo-jumbo, but from what I can tell the majority of players in pro sports leagues are getting the booster - including in the NHL, where there is no booster mandate. Since they are in a similar demographic as us, and their livelihoods pretty much depend on their being in peak physical condition, I figure that the booster pro/con calculus has already been done and weighs in favour of pro.

@John

That's an interesting point. I worry the decision faced by pro athletes is different for three reasons:

1. Did they mostly make their decisions in Delta world? Booster effectiveness dropped from 70% to at most 40% but by my estimate 6-22% in omicron world. While hospitalization rate fell to a third. So boosting became somewhere from 1/5 to 1/60th as valuable.

2. Getting covid for them probably means missing 1 to 2 games which from what I understand is quite costly.

3. They're public figures who aren't going to get any respect for being contrarian, even if they're right.

I'm also not sure how they make these decisions. Do top athletes have a team of doctors? I'd guess there decision making process isn't actually that good even though the stakes are high. I could be wrong though.
